Die International School Augsburg (ISA), gelegen in Gersthofen, wurde 2005 gegründet, um im Wirtschaftsraum A³ / Augsburg / München eine Schule für international mobile Familien nach internationalen Bildungsstandards anzubieten. Schüler im Alter von 3 bis 18 Jahren profitieren vom umfangreichen und ausgewogenen Lern- und Erziehungsprogramm der ISA als IB World School und zusammen mit ihren Familien von der Schule als zentralem Ort der Integration in die Region.

Als internationale Ganztags-Gesamtschule wird an der ISA in englischer Schulsprache unterrichtet, das anspruchsvolle Bildungskonzept der IB stellt den akademischen Bildungsweg der Kinder sicher und führt zu den international anerkannten Schulabschlüssen des IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate = anerkannte, allgemeine Hochschulreife) und des IGCSE (International Certificate of Secondary Education = anerkannte Mittlere Reife). Darüber hinaus stellt die Schule die lokale Integration der Kinder durch den intensiven Unterricht in der Landessprache (=Deutsch) und den Erhalt der Muttersprache durch eine Vielzahl von Muttersprach - Unterrichtsangeboten sicher.

Zur Sicherstellung der Qualität der Lehre, des pädagogischen Konzeptes und der schulinternen Prozesse hat die ISA die folgenden international renommierten Akkreditierungen erlangt: 2020 (2010) / IB Diploma Programme, 2019 (2012) CIS (Council of International Schools), 2019 (2009) / IB PYP (Primary Years Programme), 2008 / CIE (Cambridge International Examinations Centre für das IGCSE). Auszeichnungen, die Region Augsburg in internationalen Bildungsstandards auf Augenhöhe mit Metropolregionen, wie Berlin, Brüssel oder London heben. Die Schule ist in Bayern als Ersatzschule in den Klassen 1-9 sowie als Ergänzungsschule in Klassen 10-12 anerkannt und zugelassen. Als erste Schule wurde die ISA von einem der renommiertesten Mittelstandswettbewerbe Deutschlands als TOP 100 Innovator 2021 ausgezeichnet.

Mit heute 346 Schülern und 90 Mitarbeitern steht die ISA als Mitglied der Charta der Vielfalt für die Vielfalt der Kulturen und setzt sich für die interkulturelle Verständigung ein. Als Mitglied der Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie Initiative ist die Schule den 17 Nachhaltigkeitszielen (SDGs) der Vereinten Nationen und ihren Werten verpflichtet, die die Grundlage der Gemeinwohl-Ökonomie bilden. Als Internationale Schule ist die ISA weit mehr als eine Schule und steht als wichtiges Wirtschaftsförderungsprojekt für die prosperierende Entwicklung der Wirtschaftsregion A³ - Augsburg.

The International School Augsburg (ISA), located in Gersthofen, was founded in 2005 to provide a globally recognised education for internationally mobile families in the A³/Augsburg/Munich economic area. ISA is an IB World School in which students between the ages of three and 18 can benefit from a balanced and varied programme of learning. In addition, the school plays a central role in supporting these families as they integrate into the local community.

ISA is an international all-day comprehensive school which has English as the language of instruction. The IB's educational concept ensures that children are supported to develop holistically. The programme culminates in the internationally recognized school qualifications of the IB Diploma and the IGCSE (International Certificate of Secondary Education), which are recognised as a general certificate of matriculation and a secondary school leaving certificate, respectively. In addition, the school ensures the local integration of the children through intensive lessons in the host country language, German and the preservation of their home languages through a large number of mother tongue lessons.

To ensure the quality of teaching and internal school processes, the ISA has obtained the following internationally renowned accreditations:

These awards are a recognition of the school’s very high educational standards. They put Augsburg on a par with metropolitan regions such as Berlin, Brussels and London. In addition, ISA has been approved in Bavaria as an ‘Ersatzschule’ for grades 1-9 and as an ‘Ergänzungsschule’ for grades 10-12.
The ISA was the first school to be recognized as TOP 100 Innovator 2021 (mid-sized companies) in a widely renowned competition.
